Sample Cooler Temperature Control
The US/S-XR helps maintain desired sample and process temperatures while reducing the risk of overheating. Designed for sample coolers, process analyzers, and related sample conditioning systems, this cooling media control valve can regulate compatible fluids such as water and glycol.
Its stainless-steel, threaded configuration provides a durable solution for industrial cooling applications with straightforward installation and a long service life.
For heating applications the direct-acting, US/S-X can be used to regulate flow to protect a system or process from freezing

US/S-XR Installation
The US/S-XR sample cooler temperature control valve can be installed with the valve’s thermal actuator immersed in the process line or mounted non-invasively to the piping with the optional Band-O-Let fitting. In surface-sensing installations, the actuator responds to pipe temperature through thermal conduction.
How the US/S-XR Valve Works
As a reverse-acting valve, the US/S-XR modulates open if the sensed temperature rises to the valve’s set point temperature, allowing cooling fluid to flow. As the process cools, the valve modulates toward the closed position, reducing cooling flow as the desired temperature range is restored. The closing temperature is typically 10°F below the opening temperature.
