Cooling Control for Analyzer and Sample Systems
The TV/US-XR cooling media control valve helps maintain stable operating temperatures while reducing the risk of overheating and unnecessary cooling media use. Its stainless-steel construction supports dependable operation in demanding industrial environments.
For heating applications, the direct-acting, TV/US-X can be used to regulate flow to protect a system or process from freezing.
Design Features
- Exclusive Thermoloid® wax thermal actuator
- All stainless-steel construction
- Compact low mass – fast response
- Ram-type plug for reliable shut off
- Narrow temperature band
- Unaffected by pressure variations
Typical Applications
The TV/US-XR provides temperature-based cooling media control for process sampling and analyzer systems that require controlled sample temperatures. It can also regulate air flow to vortex cooling devices used for localized enclosure or instrumentation cooling.

TV/US-XR Installation
The TV/US-XR can be installed so the sensing end is immersed directly in the process fluid or mounted non-invasively to the outside of the pipe with a hose clamp. In surface-sensing installations, the actuator responds to pipe temperature through thermal conduction.
How the TV/US-XR Valve Works
The reverse-acting TV/US-XR opens on rising temperatures to allow the flow of cooling fluid to keep a process from overheating. As temperature falls, the valve modulates toward the closed position to reduce flow and maintain the process within the desired temperature range.
