Steam Heating Control for Instrument Enclosures
The TV/SC-I helps maintain instrument and analyzer enclosure temperatures within a specified range by regulating steam supplied to the instrument enclosure heater. Controlled steam flow helps prevent overheating and reduce associated risks to sensitive equipment and enclosure systems.
This self-contained thermostatic control valve provides a reliable, economical alternative to electric enclosure heating while avoiding the need for powered heating controls inside the enclosure. Stainless-steel construction supports dependable operation in industrial environments and a long service life.
For applications requiring cooling rather than heating, see the TV/SC-IR Instrument Enclosure Cooling Control Valve.

TV/SC-I Installation
The TV/SC-I mounts through the enclosure wall with a weather-tight bulkhead fitting, positioning the thermal actuator inside the enclosure. Optional bulkhead fittings are available for 3/8-inch tubing connections.
How the TV/SC-I Valve Works
The TV/SC-I’s thermal actuator senses the internal temperature and regulates the steam supply to the enclosure heater. As the steam coil heats the enclosure, radiant heat reaches the actuator and causes the valve to reduce steam flow as the desired temperature is reached.
When the enclosure temperature falls, the valve reopens to restore steam flow and heat input. This thermostatic cycling helps maintain the desired enclosure temperature while reducing unnecessary steam consumption, regardless of changes in outside ambient temperature.
