Tube-Fitting Steam Tracing Temperature Control
The TV/US-X Steam Tracing Control Valve is designed for tracing and process temperature control applications that use tube compression fittings rather than threaded pipe connections.
By modulating heating media according to temperature demand, the TV/US-X helps maintain optimal process temperatures while reducing the risk of overheating and limiting media consumption. Its straightforward installation and stainless-steel construction provide a durable temperature control solution with a long service life.
For cooling applications, the reverse-acting, TV/US-XR can be used to regulate flow to protect a system or process from overheating.

TV/US-X Installation
The TV/US-X can use the same immersed or surface-sensing installation methods as the US/S-X, but connects to the heating media through tube compression fittings. The sensing end can be immersed directly in the process fluid or mounted non-invasively to the outside of the pipe with a hose clamp. In surface-sensing installations, the actuator responds to pipe temperature through thermal conduction.
How the TV/US-X Valve Works
As a direct-acting valve, the TV/US-X opens when the sensed temperature falls to the valve’s specified temperature, increasing heating media flow. As temperature rises, the valve modulates toward the closed position to reduce heat input and maintain the process within the desired temperature range.
For example, a 90°F valve opens at approximately 90°F and closes at approximately 100°F, maintaining the process temperature within a typical 10°F differential.
