Thermostatic Steam Tracing Control
The US/S-X Steam Tracing Control Valve helps maintain optimal process temperatures in steam tracing and other heat transfer applications while reducing the risk of process overheating. Its thermostatic operation supports stable process conditions while helping limit excess heat input and unnecessary heating media use.
Designed for quick, straightforward installation and dependable operation in industrial environments, the US/S-X provides a durable temperature control solution with a long service life.
For cooling applications the reverse-acting, US/S-XR can be used to regulate flow to protect a system or process from overheating.

US/S-X Installation
The sensing end of the US/S-X valve can be immersed directly in the process fluid or mounted non-invasively to the outside of the pipe using the optional Band-O-Let fitting. In surface-sensing installations, the actuator responds to pipe temperature through thermal conduction.
How the US/S-X Valve Works
As a direct-acting valve, the US/S-X modulates heating media flow in response to temperature changes. When the sensed temperature falls to the valve’s specified temperature, the valve opens to increase heat input. As the temperature rises, the valve begins to close, reducing heating media flow and helping maintain the process within the desired temperature range.
For example, a 90°F valve opens at approximately 90°F and closes at approximately 100°F, maintaining the process temperature within a typical 10°F differential.
