Steam Tracing and Freeze Protection Control
The TV/SC-A helps protect piping, instrumentation, and enclosure systems from freezing by supplying heat or other compatible media only when needed. The valve can control steam, air, gas, and liquids compatible with Teflon® and stainless steel, providing a versatile solution for temperature-based control.
By reducing unnecessary steam and media flow, the TV/SC-A helps eliminate waste and lower operating costs associated with continuous heating and manual winterization.
For applications that require sensing process or pipe surface temperature instead of ambient conditions, see the TV/US-X Steam Tracing Control Valve with Tube Fittings.

How the TV/SC-A Valve Works
The TV/SC-A uses a thermostatic actuator that is thermally isolated from the valve body to sense surrounding air temperature. When ambient temperature falls to the valve’s set point, the valve opens to allow the selected media to flow. As ambient temperature rises, the valve modulates toward the closed position, reducing flow once heat or freeze protection is no longer required.
