HCX Washdown Station Overview
For facilities that need a hot water washdown station with adjustable outlet temperature, the HCX mixes existing hot and cold water supplies at the point-of-use. Its simple mechanical design provides a cost-effective washdown solution without the need for steam.
Design Features
- Individual globe valves
- Integrated outlet temperature gauge
- Hose rack and mounting bracket included
- Available in stainless steel or brass
- Optional SmartFlow thermostatic shutoff valve
Typical Applications
The HCX hot/cold water mixing washdown station is used for cleaning processing tanks and equipment in food processing, dairy, breweries, wineries, and other facilities where high-temperature washdown is required. The HCX should be applied in facilities that do not have an available steam supply.

How the HCX Mixing Station Works
Hot and cold water enter the HCX through separate inlets. Individual globe valves allow the operator to adjust each flow until the desired outlet temperature is reached. An integrated temperature gauge provides a direct indication of the mixed-water temperature.
The HCX can be equipped with an optional SmartFlow thermostatic safety valve that responds to excessive outlet temperature. SmartFlow begins reducing flow at the factory set point and shuts down flow 10°F above the set point with minimal leakage. Available set points are 125°F, 135°F, and 150°F.
The HCX is designed for hot and cold water service and is not intended for steam service. For steam and water mixing applications, use the STVM® Steam & Water Washdown Station.
