Mixing and Diverting Valves
ThermOmegaTech’s 3-way Mixing or Diverting (M/D) thermostatic temperature control valve is utilized in various industrial, aerospace, and defense applications where precision and reliability are vital to keeping processes operating efficiently. Mixing and diverting valves (M/D valves) provide reliable control of fluid temperatures in engines, compressors, lubrication oil cooling systems, hydrostatic drive circuits, radiators, hydraulic power units, and other systems where fluids must be mixed or diverted depending on their temperatures.
These thermostatic control valves (TCVs) have internal port-switching devices that automatically mix or divert fluids in proportion to temperature.
Mixing Applications
When installed in mixing mode, the hydraulic control valve will automatically proportion the flow of hot and cold fluid through ports “B” and “C” to provide the desired temperature exiting the “A” port.
Diverting Applications
When operating as a thermal bypass valve (TBV), the thermal actuator of the thermostatic diverter will automatically divert the inlet flow through a heat exchanger or bypass it to a reservoir depending on fluid temperature. This action assures rapid system warm-up, accurate fluid temperature control, and reduced back pressure in the return.
Completely self-actuating, these mixing and diverting valves require no external power source to operate, simplifying installations and reducing costs. Available standard in bronze and stainless-steel housings with NPT sizes from 1/2″ to 2″. Customized wide temperature ranges, materials, and port positions available upon request.
